Located 330km north of Adelaide, it’s once-again the city’s premier sports ground.

The Problem: Port Augusta City Council were desperate to uncover the reasons behind the ground’s poor condition and performance.

So they engaged our Greenspace 4D Consultants who after conducting a thorough review and analysis of the turf, soil, irrigation system and water quality, presented a detailed discussion paper back to the council.

This report not only outlined the reasons behind the ground’s quality and performance issues, but also included options and recommendations about how to correct those faults for long-term success.

The Solution: Council agreed that reconstruction was the best option. Greenspace 4D Design experts were then engaged to develop specifications and undertake inspections at critical stages throughout the whole process. The old surface was stripped, the sub-grade trimmed to design contours, a new irrigation and drainage system was installed, root zone material imported and trimmed to design contours, before the new turf was laid and established before the final handover.
